I build altars in order to exalt our consciousness. Working through my hands, seeing and being sensitive to the material, I honor what I’ve learned, and the magic of creation. In the words of Gina Sala, “We are most like the creator when we’re creating.”
Listening to what the material has to say, the legend of its cells embodied as wood, the story parallels our own. From matter we grow toward the light. Using the nourishment of the elements, our story, like the tree’s, is more beautiful and rich in character where we encounter challenge. In the grain of the wood it’s a form of a prayer. It’s my work to articulate that prayer that wood offers, and raise it high as an altar.
I welcome you to view my gallery and take a look at what I offer.
